New CEO at Nelson After VMS/MSP Sale

The Nelson Family of Companies reported its new CEO will be Craig Nelson. The change follows the departure of former CEO Catherine Candland, who joined ZeroChaos after it acquired a majority stake in Nelson’s WorkforceLogic division. WorkforceLogic provides a vendor management system and operates as a managed service provider.

Craig Nelson previously served as executive vice president of staffing services at the Nelson Family of Companies. He joined the Sonoma, Calif.-based staffing provider as general counsel in 2001. Prior to that, Craig Nelson spent seven years in the criminal division of the California Department of Justice. He is also the son of company Gary Nelson, founder of the Nelson Family of Staffing Companies.

Candland had joined the Nelson Family of Companies as CEO in May 2010. She took over from Gary Nelson, who remains chairman.

The Nelson Family of Companies sold a majority stake in its WorkforceLogic division to Orlando, Fla.-based ZeroChaos effective Jan. 1. ZeroChaos is owned by private equity firm Snow Phipps.

The Nelson Family of Companies has 17 locations and more than 300 employees.
