Nevada posts highest jobless rate in February

Nevada posted the highest unemployment rate among all states in February at 7.1%, according to data released today by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Mississippi followed at 7.0%; California and Louisiana both posted unemployment rates of 6.7%.

The District of Columbia had a rate of 7.8%.

Nebraska posted the lowest unemployment rate in February at 2.7%.

The national jobless rate edged down to 5.5% from January and was 1.2 percentage points lower than in February 2014.
