Nevada, Illinois post highest jobless rates

Nevada and Illinois posted the highest unemployment rates among the states in March at 9.7 percent and 9.5 percent respectively, according to seasonally adjusted numbers released today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. California and Mississippi tied for third with unemployment rates of 9.4 percent each.

North Dakota again registered the lowest jobless rate, 3.3 percent in March.
