The number of hours worked by temporary workers in the Netherlands increased by +8% during period nine (18 August – 14 September) compared with the same period last year, according to the latest figures from the Dutch Federation of Employment Agencies (ABU).
This follows growth of +9% in the number of hours worked during period eight and +6% in period seven.
Sales during period nine increased by +7%, compared with last year. Sales during the previous period increased by +8%, following growth of +6% in period seven.
- The number of hours worked in the administrative sector during period nine increased by +6%, year-on-year, with sales also increasing by +6%.
- In the industrial sector, the number of hours worked rose by +8%, while sales rose by +7%, year-on-year.
- The number of hours worked in the technical sector rose by +16%, compared with last year, with sales rising by +13%.
Every four weeks ABU members deliver their sales and working hours figures to TNS-NIPO. This is called the ABU-Marktmonitor. The monitor represents more than 60% of the total staffing industry in the Netherlands.
