There were 11% more hours worked by temporary workers in the Netherlands during the seventh period of 2015 (22 Jun – 19 Jul), compared with the same four-week period in 2014, according to the Dutch Federation of Employment Agencies (ABU).
Sales during the period rose by 14% compared with last year.
The Dutch staffing market has reported growth in the number of hours worked every four-week period, compared with the same period the previous year, since August 2013. Sales have increased every period since November 2012.
Each year ABU breaks the year into 13 four-week period and provides sales and revenue information across three sectors.
- The number of hours worked in the administrative sector rose by 13% during the period, with sales up by 16%.
- In the industrial sector the number of hours increased by 7%, with sales growth of 8%.
- The strongest growth was reported by the technical sectors, with 27% more hours worked and a 24% increase in sales.
Every four weeks, ABU members deliver their turnover and working hours to research firm, TNS-NIPO who, in turn, produce the ABU-Marktmonitor. It is claimed that the monitor contains more than 60% of the total staffing industry in the Netherlands.
