07 July 2015

There were 9% more hours worked by temporary workers in the Netherlands during the sixth period of 2015 (24 May – 21 Jun), compared with the same four week period in 2014, according to the Dutch Federation of Employment Agencies (ABU).

Sales during period six rose by 10% compared with last year.

The latest growth is the weakest in five months, however it should be noted that the particularly strong growth reported in period five was influenced by two fewer working days this year compared with period five in 2014.

Each year ABU breaks the year into 13 four-week period and provides sales and revenue information across three sectors.

The Dutch staffing industry has reported growth every four-week period for the past 19 periods, in comparison with the same period the previous year.

For the first half of 2015 there were 11% more hours worked by temporary workers compared with the first half of 2014.

Sales during the first six periods of the year rose by 12% compared with last year, although it should be noted that there were two fewer working days in the first half of 2014.
