Netherlands – Actief Interim acquires Vebego staffing and payroll firms

24 July 2015

Belgian temporary staffing firm Actief Interim has acquired Dutch temporary staffing firm Tence Inzetbureau and sister company Tence Payroll from Vebego, a privately owned recruitment firm and service provider based in the Netherlands.

The acquisitions form part of Actief’s strategy to become one of the top staffing firms in the Netherlands in the near future.

Founded in 1988, Actief is a multi-sector recruitment firm with offices across Belgium and an office in Luxembourg. The company first entered the Dutch market in September 2014 following the acquisition of recruitment firm TiP personeelsdiensten, which has since been rebranded Actief Interim.

Mark Maesen, CEO of Actief Group, commented: “Over the past 15 years Actief has grown in Belgium from a small local player into a very successful company, operating nationally. We firmly believe that the Actief approach, which is based on local entrepreneurship, long-term partnerships, quality, services, and mutual trust, also provides a strong basis for successful growth in the Netherlands.”

“With the acquisition of Tence we can now serve a larger share of the Dutch market and we gain a broader base on which to build nationwide coverage throughout the Netherlands. Tence also fits perfectly with our growth strategy and we expect this acquisition will give us added value at all levels,” he added.

Steph Feijen, a member of the board of directors at Vebego, commented: “Our focus and investments over the coming years will be in our facilities, healthcare, and public sector activities. Therefore, we divided to sell Tence Inzetbureau and Tence Payroll to a new shareholder who will focus on the further expansion of their activities.”

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Vebego also announced today that it will step away from what it terms “generic” recruitment and is looking for a buyer for Sherpa, its remaining non-specialist recruitment firm.

The company will retain specialist staffing firms Management2000, Care People, and Reflex as part of its portfolio of companies.
