NABE economists expect faster US economic growth in 2015

December 08, 2014

US economic growth will accelerate in 2015, according to the National Association for Business Economics’ outlook survey of 48 professional forecasters.

“The NABE panelists’ median forecast is for real GDP growth to measure 3.1 percent on an annual average basis next year, a marked improvement from the 2.2 percent growth rate currently expected for 2014,” said NABE president John Silvia, chief economist at Wells Fargo.

NABE’s forecasted GDP growth for 2015 is in line with a separate survey by the Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank.

In addition, the NABE survey found the economists expect the unemployment rate to fall to 5.4 percent of the fourth quarter of 2015 and the US economy to expand by nearly 220,000 jobs per month in 2015.
