The Detroit metropolitan area posted the highest jobless rate among large metropolitan areas in June at 9.2 percent, according to data released today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The lowest jobless rates among large metropolitan areas in June were found in Austin, Texas, at 4.4 percent and Minneapolis-St. Paul at 4.5 percent.
Among metropolitan areas of all sizes, Yuma, Ariz., posted the highest jobless rate in June at 26.9 percent. Bismarck, N.D., posted the lowest jobless rate at 2.6 percent.
