Most lawyers turn to networks for support staff

When looking for legal support professionals, 51% of lawyers turn to networking or use a referral from a friend or peer, according to a survey by Robert Half Legal, the legal staffing division of Robert Half International Inc. (NYSE: RHI). The second most-used method (21%) was going through a staffing firm.

Other methods of finding staff included: college or technical school recruiting program (12%), Internet/job boards (8%), classified advertisement (4%), other (1%) and don't know (3%).

The survey questioned 300 attorneys from the largest law firms and corporations in the U.S. and Canada.
