Monster forms alliances with newspapers

Monster (NASD: MNST) today announced that it has forged several partnerships with newspapers around the country to increase points of distribution and brand presence in targeted regions. 

Monster has launched co-branded recruitment Web sites with The Columbus Dispatch, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, New Hampshire Union Leader, Rutland Herald/Times Argus (Vermont), and Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram (Portland, ME), The Post and Courier (Charleston, SC), The Blade (Toledo, OH), San Francisco Examiner, Baltimore Examiner and El Nuevo Día (Puerto Rico)In addition, Monster will soon launch three co-branded sites with Home News Enterprises properties: The Republic, Daily Reporter and The Daily Journal; four co-branded sites covering 11 Western News & Info properties; and a co-branded site with The Santa Fe New Mexican.

"These alliances provide thousands of consumers with another point of access to Monster's job search and match technology, and regional employers in these markets will be able to more easily utilize Monster's leading resume database, national reach and range of recruitment services," said Peter Newton, senior vice president and general manager of media alliances, Monster.
