Missouri Agency Hiring 130 Temps

The Missouri state Department of Health and Senior Services will hire around 130 temporary workers to evaluate the needs of thousands of Missouri Medicaid patients after a contractor hired to do the work dropped out, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

Agency Director Margaret Donnelly estimates it will cost the state $8 million if all 130 workers work for a full year; the contract with the company that quit, SynCare LLC, was for an estimated $5.5 million per year.

SynCare is a disease management company.
