The Minnesota Attorney General announced a lawsuit against The Arthur Group and its owner and CEO, Barry Trimble, alleging the staffing firm violated the state's consumer fraud and deceptive trade practices laws.

The Arthur Group charged job hunters up to $4,500, but didn't deliver on promises according to the Attorney General's office.

Allegations in the suit, according to the Attorney General's office, included: posting jobs on the Internet to lure in workers but telling them the jobs were no longer available when they arrived for an interview; in some cases failing to provide interviews or leads despite fees paid; misleading some job seekers into believing fees they paid would be reimbursed by employers; in some cases failing to deliver resume drafting and interview services which it charged hundreds of dollars for; and charging some people up to $1,695 for "advanced interview training" which included only a brief discussion about interviewing in general followed by a 15-minute video of a question and answer session.
