Michigan’s minimum wage rose to $8.15 per hour effective Monday from the previous rate of $7.40 per hour, the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs announced.
It represents the first increase in six years, according to the agency.
Yesterday’s increase also marked the first of several coming to Michigan employers. The state’s minimum wage will rise, in steps, to $9.25 by 2018:
