Mexico leading index edges down

The Conference Board leading economic index for Mexico fell 0.2 percent in December, the organization reported Wednesday. It now stands at 123.3 (2004=100). The leading index had shown no change in November.

Still, the leading economic index grew 0.3 percent in the second half of 2013, an improvement from the decline of 0.9 percent for the previous six months.

The Conference Board coincident economic index from Mexico increased 0.3 percent in December. Real gross domestic product in Mexico grew by 0.7 percent (annual rate) in the fourth quarter, down from 3.9 percent growth in the third quarter of 2013.
