Medical staffing revenue falls 36% at Arcadia

Arcadia Resources Inc. (AMEX: KAD) reported Friday its medical staffing revenue fell 35.7% to $4.5 million in its fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2009, compared with $7.0 million in the third quarter of the previous year.

The Indianapolis-based Arcadia also reported third-quarter revenue in its home healthcare operations fell 2.5% on a year-over-year basis to $17.1 million.

Third-quarter gross margin in the company's services segment, which includes medical staffing and home healthcare, was 30.5%, up slightly from 30.3% in the year-ago quarter.

Arcadia also provides nonstaffing services including pharmacy operations. The company's total third-quarter revenue was $21.6 million, down 12.0% on a year-over-year basis.

The firm reported a third-quarter net loss of $3.2 million.
