MedAssets Revenue Rises 11%

MedAssets Inc. reported second-quarter revenue rose 10.6 percent to $163.0 million from $147.4 million in the year-ago quarter. Revenue in its spend and clinical resource management segment, which includes the Broadlane VMS that was acquired in November 2010, rose 12.1 percent to 102.1 million in the second quarter.

The company posted a second-quarter net income of $2.3 million, compared with a net loss of $2.5 million in the year-ago period.

MedAssets is a provider of spend management and revenue cycle management solutions for healthcare firms. The company serves more than 4,200 hospitals and 100,000 non-acute healthcare providers in the U.S.
