Manufacturing, Non-Manufacturing to Add Jobs

Manufacturing employment is expected to increase by 2.9 percent in the remainder of 2011 while non-manufacturing employment is expected to increase by 0.9 percent, according to the 2011 semiannual economic forecast released today by the Institute for Supply Management.

Manufacturers’ net revenues are expected to increase 7.5 percent in 2011, up from a prediction of 5.6 percent growth made in a similar report in December.

In the non-manufacturing sector, net revenues are expected to rise by 2.1 percent in  2011 — down from the December 2010 forecast of 3.4 percent growth in 2011.
