ManpowerGroup Joins Anti-Trafficking Group

September 26, 2012

ManpowerGroup Inc. (NYSE: MAN) joined with eight other global companies to form the Global Business Coalition Against Trafficking. The group aims to provide businesses with tools designed to end human trafficking.

Along with ManpowerGroup, founding members include Carlson, Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines, ExxonMobil, LexisNexis, Microsoft, NXP and Travelport.

The coalition will develop and share best practices for preventing traffickers from entering a company’s operations. It will pursue training modules for employees and raise general awareness among consumers, suppliers and partners. Members will also continue collaborating with governments, NGOs and the general public to build out the cross-sector solutions, which are necessary to eliminate all forms of modern slavery. More than 21 million slaves exist in the world today, according to the International Labor Organization.
