Manpower buys RPO firm

April 01, 2008

Manpower Inc. (NYSE: MAN) expanded its recruitment process outsourcing operations with the acquisition of CRI Inc., a Torrance CA-based RPO firm. Manpower announced the deal Monday.

"CRI is a great, strategic fit because both companies operate with a high performance approach to obtaining business results and driving continuous improvement," said Sheldon Schur, Vice President and General Manager of Manpower Business Solutions in North America.

Schur said Manpower believes it's the global leader in RPO when looking at its operations around the world. "The RPO space is a very strategic one for us," he said.

Terms of the deal were not announced. Privately-held CRI began in 1997 and its founders, Ladd and Julie Richland, will stay on with Manpower. CRI will operate as part of Manpower's Manpower Business Solutions. Combined, the division will have 10-15 offices across the United States as well as on-site operations and a network of virtual recruiters.

CRI has a special focus in information technology, sales, engineering, and finance, but works in all areas.
