Manpower CEO joins Federal Reserve board

Manpower Inc. (NYSE: MAN) Chairman and CEO Jeff Joerres was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago's board through 2011.

Board directors are picked to represent a cross-section of the economy including consumers, industry, agriculture, the service sector, labor and commercial banks.

The board has nine members. Banks in the district choose three members and the Federal Reserve Board of Governors appoints three bankers and three nonbankers to the board.

Joerres replaces John Canning Jr., chairman of Madison Dearborn Partners.
