Manhattan Posts Highest Weekly Wage

New York County, home to Manhattan, posted the highest average weekly wage among all large U.S. counties in the second quarter of 2010 at $1,659, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Santa Clara County, Calif., recorded the second-highest weekly wage at $1,603.

Horry County, S.C., posted the lowest average weekly wage among all large U.S. counties at $546 in the second quarter. Cameron County TX recorded the second-lowest at $562.

The average weekly wage for the U.S. was $865 in the second quarter.
