Management acquires Pro Staff

December 17, 2008

The management team of Pro Staff, a Minneapolis-based staffing firm, acquired the company from the estate of Pro Staff founder Jeff Dobbs and his brother, Doug Dobbs. Terms of the deal were not announced.

The new owners include co-founder Clay Morel, co-founder Michael Morris and Tim Allen. In addition, Prudential Capital Partners, a mezzanine fund, has taken a minority stake in the firm.

Morel will serve as CEO/principal, and Michael Morris will continue as executive VP/principal. Allen will remain as the firm's chief operating officer and CFO.

No changes in operations are planned.

Pro Staff specializes in administrative, finance and accounting, information technology, engineering and industrial staffing. Its Digital People brand focuses on creative and marketing staffing; the company's Hunter Hamilton Professional Resources division provides staffing in senior-level finance and accounting professionals. In addition, Pro Staff provides several services through its Pro Staff Talent Management Services division, including recruitment process outsourcing, contingent workforce management, human capital consulting and performance management. The company operates in Minnesota, Texas, Kansas, Missouri and Iowa.

Founder and former CEO Jeff Dobbs died in October 2007.
