Majority of successful candidates submitted within a day

September 24, 2013

More than half of candidates ultimately hired are submitted within a day of the job order going out, according to new research released this week by staffing software provider Bullhorn.

It found that 57 percent of candidates who are successfully placed were submitted within 24 hours of the job order going out.

The report, “The Ultimate Revenue Roadmap,” is based on data from Bullhorn users; it includes nearly 1,000 successful professional placements made in the last couple of months. Approximately 95 percent of the placements were for contract positions.

“We knew, anecdotally that speed was important, that it was becoming more important,” said Andrew Hally, vice president of product and marketing at Bullhorn. However, it was surprising that it was as quick as it was, Hally said.

The report began measuring time on the creation date of the job order. Bullhorn then looked back to the submission date of the candidate who was ultimately selected by the client — that submission date was when the clock stopped.

Bullhorn plans to follow this metric in the future to see if speeds are increasing.
