Majority of recruiters say clients optimistic on hiring

May 29, 2013

Sixty-nine percent of recruiters in the Top Echelon Network indicated that their clients are optimistic — to some degree — about hiring throughout the rest of this year, according to a poll of its membership. Top Echelon is a network of nearly 400 search firms.

“Ideally, the percentage of companies that are optimistic about hiring and embrace it more will continue to grow throughout the rest of this year and into the next,” said Matt Deutsch, communications coordinator at Top Echelon. “This survey is indicative of a positive trend within the recruiting industry, both for recruiters and for those who are seeking new employment opportunities.”

The survey asked, “How optimistic are your clients about hiring during the rest of 2013?” Responses included:

  • Very optimistic: 16.9 percent
  • Somewhat optimistic: 52.1 percent
  • Decidedly neutral: 26.8 percent
  • Somewhat pessimistic: 2.8 percent
  • Very pessimistic: 1.4 percent
