MRINetwork taps search exec to lead Canada office

September 23, 2015

MRINetwork, a subsidiary of CDI Corp. (NYSE: CDI) appointed Mark Cosens as general manager of its Toronto office, the first company-owned office in Canada.

Cosens has 30 years’ experience in Canadian business development and recruitment. He served as managing director for Korn Ferry International in Toronto from 1997 to 2001. As founder and managing partner of Kilbride Partners, he has conducted executive search work and board recruiting for private and public businesses for the last 14 years.

“We look forward to not only this new office, but to future expansion and providing search and recruitment solutions for the entire Canadian market,” said MRINetwork President John McDonald. “With MRINetwork’s proven business model, combined with Mark’s leadership and deep experience in executive search and financial services, I am confident in our future in Canada.”

The company-owned office will initially focus on the finance and accounting industries. MRINetwork plans to open several more company offices, with expansion into the consumer goods, energy, technology and pharmaceutical markets to follow.

“As key sectors of the Canadian job market continue to grow, we anticipate availability of skilled candidates will become more competitive, and clients will need our help in sourcing and selecting critical talent to grow their businesses,” Cosens said. “In addition to serving Canadian businesses, we will help our international clients navigate cultural differences and variations in recruitment practices.”

MRINetwork has approximately 600 franchised offices in 40 countries. Parent company CDI ranks No. 20 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of largest US staffing firms.
