Lowe’s Companies Inc. plans to hire about 25,000 seasonal employees at its U.S. stores during the spring season, the home improvement industry’s busiest time of year.

Seasonal workers will include cashiers, lawn and garden employees, loaders, and stockers. Hiring has already begun in Florida, south Texas, Arizona and Southern California where warmer, spring-like temperatures are arriving.

The Mooresville, N.C.-based company operates more than 1,825 home improvement stores in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
