LocumTenens.com’s online job index rose nearly 16 percent in the fourth quarter of 2011 to its highest reading since it began in January 2007, according to LocumTenens.com, a physician recruitment firm.

LocumTenens.com has seen an increase in the number of employers posting a high volume of jobs,” said Liz Miller, director of web services at LocumTenens.com. “This seems to be a positive sign for larger employers and agencies.”

The online job index is a broad quarterly analysis of demand for locum tenens jobs based on the total number of active job postings.
