Legal: Suit Names Adecco, Thomson

April 22, 2011

Adecco and Thomson Reuters Corp. face a California putative class action suit that alleges failure to pay overtime to website writers, according to the April 2011 edition of the Legs & Reg Advisor, which is produced by Staffing Industry Analysts in conjunction with employment law firm Littler Mendelson.

Jason Beahm, a former FindLaw writer, alleges he worked as a writer for the defendants in California from around March 2010 to March 2011, and he was given a daily article quota that he could not meet without working overtime. The suit alleges Adecco and Thomson Reuters failed to pay proper overtime compensation, among other allegations.

“This case highlights the importance of auditing positions for both federal and state wage and hour law compliance,” according to the Legs & Reg Advisor.
