Kronos and API Deal Is Off

May 02, 2011

Kronos Inc., a workforce management solutions provider, and API Healthcare, a workforce management technology provider for the healthcare industry, announced last week the cancellation of their previously announced acquisition agreement.

Kronos announced in February its plan to acquire API Healthcare from Francisco Partners, pending regulatory approval. The parties agreed to cancel the agreement effective immediately after API announced last week it would terminate the agreement if the Department of Justice had not approved the merger this month, according to an API Healthcare press release.

Meanwhile, Kronos today announced it has acquired Principal Decision Systems International, a provider of TeleStaff, a public safety scheduling and notification workforce management solution. TeleStaff is used by more than 600 public safety entities throughout the United States and Canada. PDSI employees will join Kronos, including founders Greg Ekstrom, chief executive officer; John Moore, chief technology officer; and Chris McCormack, vice president of development. PDSI staff will continue to operate out of PDSI’s Irvine, Calif. facility. Financial terms were not disclosed.
