LinkedIn Corp. (NYSE: LNKD) revenue rose 45.7 percent in the first quarter to $473.2 million. However, the Mountain View, Calif.-based social networking firm reported a net loss of $13.3 million compared to net income of $22.6 million in the first quarter of last year.
Monster Worldwide Inc. (NYSE: MWW) revenue fell 6.5 percent in the first quarter to $198.1 million. Monster’s net income slipped 35.0 percent to $3.2 million. However, the Weston, Mass.-based jobs site reported progress on its strategic growth plan including the acquisition of social recruiting technology firms TalentBin and Gozaik.
CareerBuilder is reported by Gannett Co. Inc. (NYSE: GCI) in the company’s “digital segment.” Revenue in that segment rose 2.8 percent in the first quarter to $179.7 million. The increase was driven primarily by solid growth at CareerBuilder, Gannett reported. CareerBuilder announced its acquisition of Broadbean shortly after the end of the first quarter.
Dice Holdings Inc. (NYSE: DHX) reported first-quarter revenue rose 20.3 percent in the first quarter to $60.7 million. It posted net income of $4.4 million, down 37.9 percent from net income of $7.1 million in the first quarter of last year.
