Jobless claims four-week average falls 1%

The four-week moving average of initial jobless claims was 475,500, a decrease of 5,000, or 1.0%, from the previous week's revised average of 480,500, the U.S. Department of Labor reported today.

The advance figure for initial unemployment claims was 479,000 for the week ended Oct. 25, unchanged from the previous week's revised figure of 479,000.
