The number of U.S. initial claims for unemployment insurance for the week ended Feb. 27 fell by 29,000, or 5.8%, to 469,000 from the previous week's revised number of 498,000.
The four-week moving average of claims for the week ended Feb. 27 fell by 3,500, or 0.7%, to 470,750 from the previous week's revised average of 474,250.
