The number of U.S. initial claims for unemployment benefits fell 0.6% to 621,000 in the week ended May 30 from the previous week's revised number of 625,000, the U.S. Department of Labor reported today. The four-week moving average of claims rose 0.6% to 631,250 from the previous week's revised average of 627,250.
