JobDiva files patent suit against Monster

November 19, 2013

Staffing software provider JobDiva Inc. announced it filed a lawsuit against Monster Worldwide Inc. (NYSE: MWW) on Monday in New York federal court alleging patent infringement of JobDiva’s resume search technology.

The lawsuit is related to Monster’s 6Sense search engine, which powers its Power Resume Search, SeeMore and Candidate Spotlight products, according to Dale Cendali, lead counsel at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, the outside law firm representing JobDiva in this case.

“JobDiva has invested significant time and money developing the technology covered by its patents,” said JobDiva CEO and President Diya Obeid. “We filed this lawsuit to protect our rights to that patented technology.”

The lawsuit seeks monetary damages and injunctive relief.
