Japan – Recruit invests in US onboarding solutions firm

06 March 2015

Japan’s largest staffing firm Recruit Holdings (6098: JP) announced today that it has invested in US-based technology company All4Staff Inc., which offers an automated onboarding solution for the HR industry, reports cnbc.com.

In January 2015, Recruit launched an HR Technology Fund, a strategic corporate venture fund to enable Recruit to invest in innovative HR companies. The fund was awarded an initial capitalisation of JPY 2.36 billion (USD 19.7 million) and will invest in companies from seed rounds to pre-IPO.

Chihiro Ueda, President of the fund, commented: “All4Staff’s technology has the potential to revolutionise the way that companies onboard employees. The company has taken a process previously done manually and transferred it to a mobile and cloud-based system, improving the efficiency of the process and making it more cost effective. All4Staff has reduced the average cost of the onboarding process from USD 103 per employee to USD 21 per employee.”

David Secunda, CEO of All4Staff, added: “We are honoured to be the first investment in the Recruit HR fund, fully subscribing our USD 1.5 million seed round and adding to the pedigree of investors. The strategic focus and expertise of Recruit HR will greatly support our ability to quickly bring our mobile-first solutions to employers that rapidly hire workforces each year.”
