Japan – Randstad expands Tokyo head office following growth in Professionals segment

01 September 2014

Randstad has launched the next phase of its aggressive growth plan in Japan with the opening of its new, larger Tokyo Head Office. The company’s growth has largely been driven by the emphasis on its Professionals (mid-career) recruitment business, with plans to provide greater HR services to Japanese and foreign companies in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area.

The new office space in Tokyo will accommodate the growing number of recruitment consultants joining the Professionals team. Currently, Randstad Professionals in Japan has specialty teams in B2C, Life Sciences, and Manufacturing (Engineering & Supply Chain), with new teams scheduled to be launched in the coming months.

Two temporary staffing teams, specialising in supporting foreign subsidiaries, will relocate to the Tokyo Head Office, in order to build a stronger relationship with clients in the area.

Marcel Wiggers, Chairman and CEO of Randstad Japan, commented: “This office expansion is a significant step and represents our commitment to grow in Japan. Our Professionals business will be a key part of the overall presence in Japan in the long term and we're excited to welcome new members to the team.”

“The overall demand for total HR service from our clients is increasing and candidate scarcity is becoming a serious issue in this market.  By having all of our key service divisions join forces in the Tokyo Head Office, we are confident we can provide an even better, seamless service for clients and candidates," he added.

Randstad Japan also announced today the launch of significant branding campaign "BRAND YOU.", reaching out to jobseekers nationwide, with a focus on the Tokyo Metropolitan Area.
