Jackson Healthcare names new president

November 18, 2013

Jackson Healthcare, the third-largest U.S. healthcare staffing firm, appointed Shane Jackson to replace his father, Richard Jackson, as president of the Atlanta-based firm. Richard Jackson will continue in his role as chairman and CEO.

Since 2008, Shane Jackson has been president of Jackson Healthcare’s largest subsidiary, LocumTenens.com, an online physician recruiting board and recruiting agency. From 2000 to 2008, he oversaw numerous acquisitions, startups and investments for Jackson Healthcare and served as president of several of its startup entities. Shane Jackson will remain president of LocumTenens.com.

Richard Jackson will retain strategic oversight of the company and devote a majority of his time to applying business principles to non-profit and charitable initiatives, according to the company. Richard Jackson appeared on this year’s Staffing 100 list of most influential people in the staffing industry.

“Shane is highly professional, smart and a proven leader,” said William Franklin, vice chairman of Jackson Healthcare. “This is a logical step as he has done yeoman’s work at LocumTenens.com.”
