International News: Temporary Workforce is Key, Professor Stresses

“In times of economic instability and uncertainty, temporary staff are vital for a company’s success.â€VbCrLf With this statement made during an interview with the Adecco Institute, Professor Jutta Rump, the director of the Ludwigshafen-based Institute for Employment and Employability, refuted the common conception that temporary staffing is only beneficial during economic upswings.

A recent survey by Professor Rump’s Institute named “Personnel Policy in Times of Crisisâ€VbCrLf carried out amongst 350 companies in Germany demonstrates the importance of forming strategic alliances between companies and temporary staffing agencies.

The scientist told the Adecco Institute that it might be “beneficial to hire highly qualified temporary staff to work on projects for which the core staff lack skills. Once a project has been implemented, the existing staff can take over the newly created routine tasks. The highly qualified temp worker can then be used on further projects or passed on to the next customer.â€VbCrLf
