India – Research shows that finding the right talent is a challenge for employers

05 February 2016

According to the Randstad Workmonitor Survey, 62% of the respondents felt that their employer has trouble in finding the right talent and 61% expect the problem to get worse in future.

However, around 90% of respondents felt that the economic scenario in the country will improve and 94% expect their employers to improve financially in 2016, reflecting the upbeat mood.

"India is on an economic upswing due to several reasons: reforms initiated by the government, improved investor sentiment, relaxed FDI norms and an increased focus on ease of doing business. Overall market perception is very positive and this means more jobs and more opportunities," Randstad India Managing Director & CEO Moorthy K Uppaluri said.

The survey noted that STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and digital profiles are likely to be high in demand for employers.

The survey also showed that 77% of respondents expressed satisfaction with their respective employers in India.

The Mobility Index, which captures expectations of the likelihood of changing employers within six months, was down to 147 from 154 in the previous quarter.
