Demand for talent rose by 4% during September, compared with August, driven by demand for talent in the Infrastructure sector and for HR professionals across several sectors, according to the latest Recruitex survey from Indian job board Timesjobs.com.
Vivek Madhukar, COO of Timesjobs, commented: "The government's push to create 100 smart cities comprising of modern digitally-connected infrastructure has started to impact hiring in India Inc., with a rise in demand for key personnel in the infrastructure industry, and across Tier-II cities. Demand for middle managers, experienced professionals and HR, further consolidates the prediction that India's growth will be people intensive, needing experienced leadership, team coordination and manpower administration skills.”
The Infrastructure sector was the top employment generator in September 2015 according to with a 10% rise in hiring. Petrochemicals, oil & gas sectors were not far behind reporting a 9% increase in talent demand.
After reporting relatively average growth of 5% over the past few months, demand for IT and Telecoms talent showed some improvement, reporting month-on-month growth of 6%. Other sectors reporting growth include travel & hospitality industry (5%) and the Banking Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector (4%).
Demand for HR professionals rose by 13%, having achieved average growth of 4% over the past three months. Business managers and professional consultants also reported significant growth of 12% during September.
