The CEO and Managing Director of Adecco India, Sudhakar Balakrishnan, has announced that he is stepping down from his post, after leading one of the country's largest staffing companies for the past seven years, reports The Economic Times of India.
In a statement, Mr Balakrishnan, who has worked for the company for 14 years, said: "I have quit after being in this HR industry for decades and am looking at options.”
Mr Balakrishnan will remain with the company while his successor, Angelo Lo Vecchio, who has worked for the company since 2001, settles in.
Mr Balakrishnan was previously the Chief Operating Officer for recruitment firm Peopleone Consulting, when founder member Ajith Isaac sold 67% of the stake to Switzerland-based Adecco in 2000. The recruitment company was renamed Adecco Peopleone Consulting, with Mr Isaac as the CEO.
According to research from Staffing Industry Analysts, Adecco is the largest staffing firm in India.
