Index's outlook remains recessionary

June 13, 2008

The growth rate for the Economic Cycle Research Institute's weekly leading index (WLI) level of the U.S. economy for the week ended June 6 edged up to 132.5 from the prior period's reading of 132.4. Lower index levels indicate a slower economy.

"With WLI growth solidly negative, the U.S. economic outlook remains recessionary," said Lakshman Achuthan, managing director of the institute.
