Index: IT Worker Confidence Rebounds

October 31, 2012

The Technisource and Randstad Technologies IT Employee Confidence Index rebounded to 56.8 in the third quarter of 2012, increasing 5.1 points from second quarter of 2012. The index measures workers’ confidence in their personal employment situation and optimism in the economic environment. Technology workers' confidence levels registered at the highest level compared to all other sectors tracked by Randstad, including healthcare, finance and accounting, manufacturing, administrative and clerical, and engineering.

“Technology workers were more optimistic about nearly all confidence measures this quarter, including the strength of the economy, the availability of jobs and overall employability,” said Bob Dickey, executive vice president of technologies at Randstad U.S. “This is not surprising given the future outlook for this sector, which remains bright and encouraging.”

The index is based on an online survey conducted by Harris Interactive on behalf of Randstad Technologies and Technisource which included 212 respondents employed in IT.
