Index: IT Worker Confidence Dips in Q2

July 24, 2012

The Technisource and Randstad Technologies information technology employee confidence index fell to a reading of 51.7  in the second quarter after peaking at 58.8 in the first quarter. The index measures workers’ confidence in their personal employment situation and optimism in the economic environment.

“The decline in overall confidence levels of IT workers aligns with other recent U.S. news reports pointing to a slowdown in job creation,” said Bob Dickey, executive vice president of technologies at Randstad U.S. “There is no doubt that technology workers are exercising caution when it comes to their sentiments around the economy. However, when it comes to technology, skilled talent will always remain in high-demand and short supply.”

The index is based on an online survey conducted by Harris Interactive on behalf of Randstad that included 223 IT workers.
