Impellam North America revenue up 6%

February 28, 2013

U.K.-based Impellam Group plc, which ranks among the largest providers of staffing in the U.S., reported North America revenue rose 5.6 percent in the year ended Dec. 28, 2012, compared with 2011. Unaudited U.S. staffing revenue totaled £178.0 million (US$287.2 million).

Impellam’s North American brands include Corestaff and Guidant.

North America gross profit rose 2.6 percent to £36.0 million (US$58.1 million).

Total revenue at Impellam increased 7 percent for the financial year to £1,210.8 million (US$1.95 billion). Gross margin narrowed to 14.4 percent from 16.1 percent.

“The year's operating performance reflects a tremendous effort by each of our four divisions against a back drop of continuing difficult economic environments and trading conditions in their respective markets,” said Chairman Andrew Wilson. “Whilst revenue increased, margin compression meant that we ended the year with operating profits down against 2011 although adjusted EPS increased to 59.0 pence per share.”

Operating profit for the year fell 5.8 percent to £ 39.0 million (US$62.9 million).
