Mel Zwirn, president of Select Staffing, an Illinois-based company, announced two acquisitions.

Select's industrial staffing division, Staff Force Inc., acquired Contractors Staffing Group, a construction staffing firm with an office in Tempe AZ.

Staff Force also acquired Pronto Staffing, a light industrial staffing firm with an office in the Chicago area.

"Now is the time to find smaller, but great, companies that want to sell. There aren't too many buyers for smaller companies -- especially for cash deals," Zwirn said. "We are interested in buying."

Terms of the Contractors Staffing Group and Pronto Staffing deals were not announced. Select Staffing is separate from Santa Barbara CA-based Select Staffing.
