Extra Help, Inc., a payroll services and staffing firm, acquired Montgomery, Ala.-based Heartsill Payroll Professionals, a payroll and benefits administration company.

Heartsill will operate under the Extra Help brand and retain its current staff, including President Bonita Heartsill. The transaction was completed July 1 and terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The deal is Extra Help’s sixth merger or acquisition since 2003 and its first in Alabama. Extra Help Inc. provides payroll and workforce services to businesses in more than 30 states. It has offices in Illinois and Missouri.
