Idaho posts lowest jobless rate for third month

Idaho again posted the lowest unemployment rate among states, 2.3%, in September, the third month in a row, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. It was followed by Hawaii at 2.6%, Utah at 2.7%, and Montana and Virginia at 2.9% each. Michigan again had the highest unemployment rate among states in September at 7.5%, followed by Mississippi at 6.4% and Alaska at 6.3%.
Texas recorded the largest month-to-month increase in jobs in September at 23,100. Indiana posted the largest month-to-month decrease, down 12,300.
Overall, 23 states and the District of Columbia recorded month-to-month increases in their unemployment rates, 18 posted decreases, and nine had no change.
