Idaho again posts lowest jobless rate

Idaho registered the lowest jobless rate among states for the fifth month in a row in November, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. The state's unemployment rate was 2.7%. It was followed by South Dakota and Utah at 2.8% each.

Michigan experienced the highest unemployment rate among states in November at 7.4%. It was followed by Alaska and Mississippi at 6.4% and 6.3% respectively.

Alaska, however, reported the largest month-over-month increase in employment at 0.7%. Hawaii posted the largest month-over-month decrease in employment, down 0.3%.

Overall, 23 states registered month-over-month increases in their unemployment rates in November, 17 states and the District of Columbia reported decreases, and 10 states had no changes.
